Directions & Quick Travel

Crater Lake is notorious for being difficult to spot on the zoomed-out world map because its blue waters blend into the surrounding frost. Here is how to chart a course:

• The Onsen Mountain Route: The easiest method is to take the glider or land-mount from the Onsen Mountain hot springs. From the top of the mountain ridge, look towards the east. The massive caldera containing the lake is directly visible.
• Winter Utopia Basecamp: If you haven't unlocked the mountain towers, you can trek on foot starting from the Winter Utopia general area, following the winding frozen streams upward until you reach the elevated lip of the crater.

You will frequently find yourself visiting Crater Lake not just for leisure, but because the game's progression systems specifically route you here:

• Photography Missions: Due to its dramatic elevation and scenic views, numerous mid-to-late game daily Photo Quests request snapshots from the shores of Crater Lake.
